When we got a chance to talk virtually with Ngoc Truc, we would never imagine a lady to be a driving force of such a big operation of cement tiles.
We can only imagine how strong and fierce Ngoc Truc in person would be. It’s then an honor when Ngoc Truc, who also is called by her nickname Tina, were willing to share about her fair share of struggle in building and developing her business.
For Tina, business has always been her passion. That and the determination to change her life with what she can do were the reason she plunged into handmade cement tiles business in 2012.
“The patterns in the tiles inspires me and simultaneously gives me bigger appreciation for Vietnam’s tradition. I want to protect and advance the traditional side of Vietnam,” she stated in the interview.
If only appreciation and passion are enough, Tina would not have challenges that nearly caused her to give up. She said during the first year of the business, finding customers was the hardest thing for her. But the dream she was building kept her going.
Looking back now, it was all worth it. Now, the woman who enjoys reading magazines and traveling to get to know architecture trend is now the director of Ngoc Truc JSC (CBN-VN000002147) with an office in Ho Chi Minh City as well as family heirloom of an encaustic cement tiles and terrazo factory called Minh Thanh in Dong Nai Province since 1988.
Under her leadership, Ngoc Truc JSC products have been exported to 10 countries including USA< Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Netherlands and Korea.
“In my life, I always try to study more and more everyday in order to scale up my knowledge and experience,” that’s definitely the takeaway and the bold step we can all learn from Tina!
